On one of her first days at work in a new town and a new Veterinary Clinic, Delaney is covering to the older doctor who is about to retire when she meets war veteran, rancher, and shifter, Leif. She is immediately attracted to Leif and after spending a day with him, helping an eagle who has hurt his wing, she decides to take a chance with him. Little does she know all the baggage he brings with him.

Leif has been going through women since his return from Afghanistan. He doesn't know what he's looking for. While other shifters are looking for their mates to share with their brothers, he has decided he wants to be a lone wolf. The he meets Delaney and all that has changed. Not the lone wolf part, he's sure he still wants that, but taking a Delaney for a mate may just be what he wants. That is until one of his brother's begins to take an interest in Delaney, as well.

This is a short novel with a lot of depth. Leif is the perfect hero type with a lot to figure out after coming home from war. Delaney is a strong heroine who can take care of herself. This book is well written for a short erotic romance, however there was a lot of what I like to call "F" bombs floating around that I thought was unnecessary and a little off putting as it didn't seem either of the characters were the type to use that kind of language.

Description:
Lone Wolf is a standalone novella with no cliffhanger.

When curvy veterinarian Delany Nichols meets sexy rancher Leif Pierce, sparks fly, but Leif is a wolf shifter with a past, and his brothers have expectations that he'll share his future mate. Leif's oldest brother, Wyatt, wants Leif back as part of the pack, for Leif's own good, but Leif is determined to be a lone wolf and keep Delany all to himself.

When Leif's secrets catch up with him and threaten to tear he and Delany apart, Leif must confront his demons and his brothers, and convince Delany he can be trusted with her heart.

Reader Note: This book contains hot sex and adult language. If this is not the kind of stuff you like to read, skip this book. However, if you like stories about true love, finding a mate, and sexy shifters and curvy girls, then this is right up your alley. Enjoy!

I always say this before reviewing a Diana Palmer book, so I'll resay it again—Diana's style isn't for everyone. I like her bold heroes and her young feisty heroines. A lot of reviewers spend their time criticizing  the fact that the women are virgins, which many believe is just not the norm in today's world, but she always has a sensible reason why this is so for each individual woman. Another issue that tends to come up often is the fact that for this one small Texas town there seem to be a lot of mercenaries, FBI and Texas Rangers, but I say hey this is a romance novel Diana's world can be anything she makes it within the pages of her book. With that all in mind, lets get down to the details on this story.

Sari and Merrie are two young women who live with their millionaire father. Dad is very over protective, for reasons you learn in the story, and hires a bodyguard to keep watch over the girls. Dad is also very abusive, but the girls keep this as a secret for fear of what will happen to those they hold dear.

Paul is the bodyguard. He is very fond of both girls, but Sari is special to him. Paul hasn't come to grips with a tragedy from his past and is using his time as a bodyguard for the girls to heal, but as with most men in Diana's stories he isn't doing the best job of it.

When his relationship with Sari get a little to close for comfort, Paul decides its time to move on. He knows that neither he or Sari is ready for that next step. He leaves in the worst possible way and breaks Sari's heart.

Flash forward three years later, Sari has finish law school and is working for the local DA. Her father is getting worse and is in big trouble and is still way over protective.

Paul is now working for the FBI and gets sucked back into Sari and Merrie's life. Now Paul needs Sari's trust, but after everything that's happened in their past is that possible?

Paul is a little different from many of the heroes that live in Diana Palmer's books. He isn't quite as arrogant and really does care for Sari and Merrie. This is one of the reasons why I liked this book so much. Also, she goes into a lot more detail about the before time with the two and how their relationship started, making it seem a little slow moving in the beginning, but as you get further in the book, you can appreciate why that was necessary.

Sari is like most of the heroines in other novels within the series. She pushes and she works hard through many heartbreaks in her life, but eventually you pulls through in the end and makes something happen with her life.

Where the story went a little wrong for me is how Paul leaves Sari's life with a lie that seems uncharacteristic of him, plus their relationship issues at the end of the book, that also seem out of character for him.

One of the best parts about this book is that there is a good deal of suspense that runs through the pages, much better written than in recent books in the series. I liked it.

From the sound of it Merrie's story is in the works for the future sometime, which should prove to be interesting.

In the meantime, Nate and Karla's triplets are beautiful in every way, most of Karla's doubt are gone, but a family friend who sees the future realizes there is more to the triplets than meets the eye and helps to move their growth along.

Lindsey wants to right a wrong her grandfather committed to honor his memory, but the local werewolf pack doesn't want her anywhere near them and is trying to push her away.

Lindsey is stubborn though and determined to do the right thing. When she meets Grif, a werecat and leader of the Redstone Clan, she isn't sure that getting involved right now is the best thing to do.

After a family tragedy Grif decides to take his younger sister on a trip to help her heal. When he runs into a woman who is being harrassed by a local shifter group Grif can't help but come to her aide. He knows that he has strong feelings for Lindsey, but because she isn't were, Grif can't understand the connection.

I'd missed this story, which was published in 2013, but when I came across it I remembered that Grif was mentioned in another Bianca D'Arc books and decided to read check it out. I liked Grif and was happy to see that he had his own story. I thought Grif turned out to be an interesting character, but Lindsey was another story. At first I liked her, but town the middle of the book I felt the story started to pull away and Lindsey went from a strong character to a little whisy-washy.

Description:
Griffon Redstone is the eldest of five brothers and the leader of one of the most influential shifter Clans in North America. He seeks solace in the mountains, away from the horrific events of the past months, for both himself and his young sister. The deaths of their older sister and mother have hit them both very hard.

Lindsey Tate is human, but very aware of the werewolf Pack that lives near her grandfather's old cabin. She's come to right a wrong her grandfather committed against the Pack and salvage what's left of her family's honor - if the wolves will let her. Mostly, they seem intent on running her out of town on a rail.

But the golden haired stranger, Grif, comes to her rescue more than once. He stands up for her against the wolf Pack and then helps her fix the old generator at the cabin, making it habitable for her while she completes her task. He's friendly and all too attractive, but she has a job to do, regardless of the cost to herself or her budding relationship with the local handyman.

When she performs the ceremony she expects will end in her death, the shifter deity has other ideas and turns the tables on them all. Grif's dual nature is revealed and Lindsey learns there is much more going on than she thought.

Thrown together by fate, neither of them can deny the deep and true attraction between them. They come together, but in the end will an old enemy rip them apart?

Warning: Cats are frisky and they get up to all sorts of naughtiness, including a frenzy-induced multi-partner situation that might be a little intense for some readers. You have been warned.

Dragon of Preor series continues with scenes from the fight on the ship as the Primary Master of the ship, Taulan, fights to keep control of his ship.

After losing his wings in battle, Taulan feels he is unworthy and just wishes to go back to his home planet. Now healed he serves as a protector to the princess of the Ujai race. Still fighting with his feelings of inadequacy Taulan brings his charge down to the beach, where he meets his mate, Lana.

Lana, running from her abusive ex-boyfriend, uses a false name to get a job at the Ujay compound. Waiting on the beach for her job interview, Lana sees a young child in distress in the water and runs to the rescue. But being the good samaritan isn't always the best idea, especially when she winds up in the Ujay prison.

Taulan isn't about to let his mate be detained by the Ujai, but her release comes with a price for Lana.

Good reading for sci-fi fans. As in the other books so far in this series, the world building is great and the characters are likable and work well together. Don't have to read the rest of the series to enjoy this book, but it would worth the reads to check out both the stories about the Preor and the Ujai.

Description:
He wants to return to Preor and she wants a job, but you don’t always get what you want.

Lana Cooper is down to her last hundred dollars, has no job, and her clunker of a car has finally clunked out. How has her life become such a cluster of horribleness? Oh, right. A guy. Only she doesn’t get a chance to beg for a job. Nope, one walk along the beach changes everything. Oh, she has a job now… as the mate to a hot, hunky Preor dragon male.

Taulan sen Pavon is anxious to return to his home on Preor. Yes, he’d journeyed to Earth in hopes of finding a human mate, but now… Now he would like to heal in the privacy of his aerie. Wings destroyed and body damaged by an explosion, he has no desire to watch others find joy with their mates while he remains unworthy and alone on a ship filled with thousands. But then he finds Lana. Lana with her alluring smile, sparkling eyes, luscious body, and whose mere presence initiates the Knowing.

Can he live long enough to claim her? Can she see past her father’s prejudice to love him? Both questions are pointless because there are still Preor who despise the joining of humans and dragons. They will stop at nothing to drive a wedge between the races. Including murder.

Rae's twin Rubi hasn't forgiven her for the fact that the accident that took Rae's leg took the lives of their parents. They had to spend the rest of their childhood in an orphenage. While Rae grew up to be a sweet person who is happy to let life happen and be happy that she is alive, Rubi wants more and more and what she wants is a piece of the D'Alessandro fortune.

She might have been able to achieve her goal, if only Yvan didn't find out that Rubi was also having an affair with his father. When he first confronts Rubi she blames her twin sister, but when Yvan finds out that her sister is an angle, compared to Rubi's evil he turns the tables on Rubi and marries Rae instead.

For Yvan Rae may just turn out to be the angel that Yvan needs to turn his life around. Ruby on the other hand can't stand that her sister is getting the life Rubi thought she deserved and will stop at nothing to get.

This is an suspense packed novel packed into 88 pages. While that alone would be enough for the story, I wish that the characters would be a little more developed and a better love story was able to develop between Rae and Yvan. But if your looking for a good quick read, it is worth the purchase price.

Description:
Loving you, lusting for her.

Yvan D'Alessandro likes his women the same way he likes his business—exclusive and under his control. Unfortunately for him, he finds out that the woman he's been sleeping with is having an affair with another man on the side. Furious, Yvan plans to exact a special kind of revenge on his cheating lover.

All he needs is the help of her sister, Rae Santos…

Sick and tired of having her life stolen from her by her vindictive twin sister, Rae accepts the proposition her sister's new flame, sexy businessman Yvan D'Alessandro, offers. Unfortunately for her, it's not long until she finds out that she may have bitten off more than she can chew.

Romance Book Review: Rebecca Airies' Sabotaged Desires

Author: Rebecca Airies

Genre: Ménage a Trois, Adventure, Sci-Fi, Futuristic
Publisher: Red Sage

❤ ❤ ❤

Taking readers into the future and a spaceship leading the inhabitants to a new world, Rebecca Airies introduces Suz, Robert and David. When they took on the assignment of colonizing a planet, Suz, Robert and David were picked as a triad. None knew each other before they got on the ship and were married, so when Robert is sent a message and told that Suz betrayed him, he believed the note and didn't give Suz a chance to explain.

When Robert is confronted to handle the tense situation their relationship had become, they realize that the person who sent the message had put them in more danger than just ruining their marriage. Now it is up to them all the save the day before the whole ship parishes.

Lots of three way loving going on in this book, almost to the extent as everything revolves around the sex and not the background story. I'd have liked a little more of that in the story, but for those who like a lot of Ménage a Trois in their stories, this is a good one for you.

Description:
Suz Lore thought she had everything she wanted, a job as an engineer and a position on a colony ship headed to another planet. That was before her arranged ménage marriage with Robert Smith and David Bradford turned into a disaster. She’d thought they were building more than a sizzling sexual relationship, but all they do is argue now.

She isn't surprised when they're sequestered in a room in order to reignite the passion between them and learn to trust again. Robert believes she betrayed him while David is stuck in the middle of their conflict. Getting Robert to talk about what made him angry is difficult, but they discover there's far more behind their problems than a message with misleading information.

A virus has overtaken the ship's computers, put them on a different heading and cut them off from all communication. They must work together to find a way to survive and rebuild their relationship.

Reader Alert!
Suz didn’t expect more than companionship from her arranged marriage, but she isn’t willing to give up the undeniable passion and security she’s found in Robert and David’s arms. Robert may be the captain of the ship, but he’s going to find that in marriage, the captain does not have the final say.

To My Readers: Sabotaged Desires began as a “what if” writing exercise. What if there was a woman trapped in a box with two men. Sounds deliciously wicked, doesn’t it? When the characters stepped into the scene, the story became explosive. They kept me wondering how they’d work through their problems and find their happy ending.

About the Author:

A voracious reader since childhood, Rebecca Airies has always enjoyed getting lost in the fantastic worlds of science fiction, horror, fantasy and romance. When she began to write her own stories, they always had a romantic edge. Rebecca currently lives in Texas and writes with the help of a couple feline critics. She’s a multi-published author whose muse loves fantasy, sci-fi and the paranormal, as well as strong heroines who are sometimes as stubborn as their heroes. She loves to here from her readers.
