Quick pace story featuring western, Texas theme. Ferguson Delaney is dying and he is calling for his family to all come together before he goes. His grandson Tucker hasn't been back to see him in four years. It isn't that he doesn't want to see his family, it is just that he is worried about seeing Micah again. On Micah 18 birthday, the two men had one night together, a night that neither or them can forget.

Micah will do anything to help the family that took him in when he was orphaned as a boy. When the ranch they all rely on begins to go under he can only think to do one thing--ask Tucker for help. The only problem is Tucker is the only man that Micah has ever loved and he left Micah years before. He'll have to risk everything just to go ask for help, but when Tucker suggests something drastic to save the ranch, can Micah survive when Tucker leaves again.

J.L. Langley does a nice job putting together this love story. The characters are wonderful. It might be nice to see the others in future stories if she decided to do a sequel.

This book is an expanded reissue from a previous story with the same name.

Romance Book Review: Dreaming In Color

For two years Colin has been dreaming about a house and a man. He knows it is all in his head, but when he comes across a rundown version of the house in his dreams on a remote Fuji island, he knows he has to investigate.

Marek doesn't know what what to make of the man from his past who lands on his doorstep. He has came to this island to forget about partner who was murdered two years ago. When Colin tells Marek he is there because of a dream, Marek worries that Colin is out to exact revenge from their shared past.

When it become apparent that Colin is just what he seems to be, a man looking for answers about his dreams, Marek realizes that Colin doesn't know the secret that has haunted Marek for years and now it is too late to tell Colin without losing him. But will Marek lose him anyway when Colin finds out?

Cameron Dane has done a wonderful job with this emotionally charred novel of two men and how they deal with their individual homosexuality and their past. Marek has always been in the closet, keeping himself sheltered from harm and those, including his family members, who don't approve of his lifestyle. His relationships, even his relationship with his murdered lover, had always been in secret. He is a tortured soul that many times authors have a problem relaying with just words alone, but Cameron caught the essence of so well it made the book interesting and inspiring.

Colin is just the opposite of Marek in that he has lived through the worst that life could offer and pushed back to live a full life. After being nearly killed at the age of 17 he isn't afraid to put his neck out there and risk the hurt again. His strength of character is one of the best things about this book.

To top off an already interesting story is the mystery of Colin's dreams and what brought the two men together after all those years. The answers are worth the read.

Romance Book Review: Cattle Valley Days

Nate and his men, Ryan and Rio are back in the 12th installment of the Cattle Valley series. Years ago in honor of his son, a rich man set up an out of the way community where gay men and women could live in peace without fear of being harmed from those who disapproved of their life style. Several years ago Nate, Rio and Ryan moved to the city in hopes of finding a place the three of them could live their life. Ryan took on the job as town sheriff. Just recently Nate took on the job as the town's mayor.

While his men are proud of Nate for taking on the job as mayor, they can't help but be sorry that things are changing in their relationship. Nate is working a lot of hours helping to get everything ready for the annual Cattle Valley Days and the additional work load is putting a strain on his relationship with Ryan. Rio is making himself sick worried about what will happen in the future, but when tragedy strikes, the men and the town need to stick together and help.

This is the most emotionally powerful packed story I've read from Carol Lynne yet. It was remarkably thought out and written. I've read every book that Carol has written and continue to become impressed with her ability to weave a emotionally driven story about real people. I was also glad to see the Good Brothers and their mates again. I wish the story could have been just a little bit longer so that that aspect of the story could have been delved into a little more, but with everything else going on in the book, it might have been a bit too much.

As always I'll be anxiously awaiting the next installment to the Cattle Valley Series. It seems that there are a lot of couples who are still waiting for their story to be told.
