Looking to celebrate with his mate and ask her to marry him, Tyler takes Katrina to Chinatown for lunch only to have his proposal interrupted by Katrina's past catching up with her. As a young shifter, Katrina's parents sold her to Chen, a Chinese shifter looking for a pure-breed shifter to breed with. Held prisoner Katrina finally escapes and makes a new life in Chicago where she meets Tyler. Now Chen wants her back and attacks her new pack to achieve his goal.
Tyler has never been the warrior type, but he will do anything to get Katrina back in his arms.
This novella packs in a lot of punch and adds to the continuation of the series. The books should be read with the rest of the series to keep up with the numerous characters.
Description:
Some things are best to forget. But what if the past won't be forgotten?
Born in China of a pure shifter bloodline, Katrina was raised with only one purpose--to breed. Abused by her alpha, she runs away to America as soon as she can. With a new pack and her true mate, she thinks the nightmare is behind her, but when she is abducted on the streets of Chinatown, Katrina must face her past and fight for her freedom.
It took Tyler a year to earn Katrina's love, another to build her confidence and pride, and only a moment to lose her. Broken-hearted, Tyler won't give up his search for Katrina.
But he never trained as a warrior like the other shifters. What chance does a real estate agent have in the fight for his mate?
WARNING: Explicit shifter sex, heartbroken torment, and an unstoppable shifter in love.

For two years Robin has been mourning her fiancé. They had made many plans for the future and she is finding it hard to let them go. One of those plans was to start a family right away. Now that he is gone, Robin wants to have a part of him with her for the future. The only way to accomplish that is to ask his brother David a big favor.
David is shocked to say the least when Robin asks his help in conceiving a child, but even more shocked that he doesn't want to say no. David has wanted Robin since before his brother died and now is his chance to have her. All he has to do is convince her to let go of the past and move into the future with him.
This book is loaded with bedroom scenes and not much all. It would have been nice to learn a little more about the two main characters outside of the bedroom. Otherwise the story was fairly wasn't bad. The bedroom scenes were hot and fun.
Description:
Two years after Robin’s fiancĂ© dies in a car crash, she has sorted her priorities and decided to follow through with one of their plans. A baby. Of course, it would be best if that baby shared some of Zach’s genes.
Enter David, Zach’s older brother. He’s her best friend, her confidant, the one person who won’t dismiss her plans as insane…she hopes. And maybe sex with him will get David out of her fantasies, fantasies where he takes Zach’s place.
Or maybe they won’t. If Robin hadn’t been Zach’s when David met her, he would have stopped at nothing to make her his own. If she doesn’t hate him for giving her what she’s asking for, they might both get the Christmas gift they want most.

Romance Book Review: The Gee Spot
Author: Mia VarranoISBN: 978-1-60310-330-5
Genre: Erotic Romance

When Hayley and AJ were in high school, she was the rich prom queen and he was the geeky nerd that she didn't give the time of day. In fact, years later when she meets him at a charity ball she doesn't even know who he is beside the billionaire playboy that all the women are drooling after.
AJ remembers Hayley though. Not only was she the object of his teenage desires, but her father owned the company where his father got fired before he died. AJ thinks now is the time to make Hayley pay for her father's sins so he embarrasses her at a charity auction. She lets it go not really understanding what his problem was. But when AJ learns her little secret he decides he isn't done with his revenge and he keeps after her to make his revenge complete. But what happens when he realizes Hayley isn't exactly who he thought she was?
The Gee Spot wasn't what I had expected. As a matter of fact, at a point in the story I was really feeling very sad in Hayley's defense and was about ready to give up on AJ having any redeeming character at all. In the end though, I give the author some points for having a well written and interesting story. Mia has a great way with words and can really write some nice and steamy sex scenes.
Description:
What happens when a former high school geek crosses paths with the prom queen? Plenty when the geek is now a gorgeous billionaire and the prom queen owns a sex toy company, The Gee Spot. But the prom queen has trouble with her own G spot and the geek exploits her problem—and her—to exact a satisfying revenge...for both of them.

Romance Book Review: Golden Eyes
Author: Maya BanksSeries Connection: Eyes
ISBN: 978-1-59632-640-8
Genre: Paranormal/shapeshifter
YYYYY
Generally I'm open to reading any kind of romance genre, but I'd have to say my favorite is paranormal novels, especially shapeshifters. I can tell from a writer's perspective this must be very difficult to write. Especially for those who are very literal minded. There are just some people who can't step out of the box and want to over analysis everything.
As a reader, I like to put myself in the position of the characters, whether they are male or female. In this case, here is a local small town sheriff in the middle of nowhere Colorado. There is little trouble in his community aside from rowdy hunters and a few poachers ever now and then. When calls start to come in about sightings of mysterious wild animals that shouldn't be in his part of the world, Sheriff Duncan Kennedy goes out for a look see. He doesn't expect to see anything but a mountain lion, but when he comes upon a cheetah he takes pause. If that isn't bad enough when he gets the cheetah to a protected area and leaves it alone for just a few minutes and comes back and sees a woman where he left the cheetah, what is a guy suppose to think?
At this point some readers might say, please that would never happen and close the book. My active imagination wants to keep reading to see what the guy will do next. Maya Banks does a great job presenting her characters in "Golden Eyes". The opening scene where the sheriff first approaches the cheetah is excellent. Later the sheriff can do nothing but believe what he sees and as the protector of all that he is, he keeps the shapeshifters secret.
Aliyah Carver, our cheetah shapeshifter, can't trust anyone. How can she help but fall in love with Duncan who shows her an incredible amount of compassion. Oh yeah and did I mention the sex scenes? Get out the fans readers because this book will make you hot, hot, hot. As always Maya Banks is a master when she writes erotic romance. This book takes her abilities to new heights.
For those who like paranormal stories with some really outrageous love scenes and some nice action as our sheriff hunts down some nasty poachers, this is the story for you. Keep an eye out for the next Maya Banks review—"Amber Eyes", book 2 in the Eyes series—coming soon.
Description:
When Sheriff Duncan Kennedy finds an injured cheetah in his mountains, he brings it home, determined to find out how she got there and stop the poachers who were hunting her. When he later checks on the cheetah and instead finds a gorgeous, naked woman with an arrow in her leg, he's completely flabbergasted.
For six months, Aliyah Carver has been trapped in cheetah form. Taken by poachers who import exotic animals to illegally hunt, she stayed in animal form to avoid detection. She escapes the hunters, but now she faces another problem. A devastatingly sexy sheriff who now knows her secret.

Romance Book Review: Nauti Nights
Author: Lora LeighSeries Connection: Nauti Boys
ISBN: 042521740X
Genre: Contemporary erotic romance
YYYYY
Blackmail is such a dirty business, but after eight years of waiting on the one woman he really wanted, James "Dawg" Mackay couldn't wait any longer. He had Crista Jansen right where he wanted her. For years Dawg had been having vivid dreams of what he wanted to do to Crista, but every time he tried to get close to her she backed away. Then suddenly eight years ago she just took off and moved in with another man in another state. Now she's back and in trouble and Dawg will stop at nothing to keep her safe, as well as have his way with her, every way possible.
Crista remembers things a little bit differently. Perhaps that's because Dawg doesn't remember what happened the one and only night they shared together. Even though she could never forget Dawg that is exactly what she sets out to do. Unfortunately, that isn't what happens and after eight years she decides to sweep the ghosts out of her past.
Now she's been home for over a year and suddenly strange things are happening to her. Then one day she goes on, what she thinks is, a simple errand to turns into bullets being fired all around her. It turns out the one who saves her is the one man she can't forget Dawg.
I liked the second story in the Nauti Boys series, Nauti Nights, a little better than the first. The characters were a little stronger and the buildup of the mystery was nicely executed. At first I was a little concerned that I wouldn't like the blackmail angle to the story, but Dawg more than redeems himself throughout the story. I like Crista too. She's been thrown to the wolves and in a desperate situation that isn't of her own making. She's smart and sassy, which I love in a heroine. Dawg is the ultimate Nauti Boy, especially in the love scenes. So far this series is really good.
I love series books and reading them one right after the other is more fun for me than waiting a few months for the next one to come out. So I'm off to read the next book in this series "Nauti Dreams."
Description:
James "Dawg" Mackey has lusted after sweet Crista Jansen for years. Just as many as she's spent running from him—and from that dangerous attraction that shot like a spark through her whole body. But now for Crista, running isn't an option anymore because Dawg's got a plan. It's kind of low-down. And kind of hot.
Blackmail is a dirty word, but Dawg will use it if that's what it takes to get Crista where he wants her. His hungers are too hard and fierce not to. He doesn't realize that Crista has a longing too. She's knows what he's up to, what he's capable of. He didn't get that nickname for nothing. And before the night is through, Crista's making him work for it.
