Ending the Carver series with Melissa's story, Lacey Wolfe offers good characters with a good continuing back story. Steal Me, Cowboy can be read by itself, but to get to know all the brothers and their new wives you'll want to read the three books before this one. 

Both of the main characters are likable, even if we don't get a chance to see the couple really get to know each other throughout the story. A lot of time is spent on should we, or shouldn't we and misunderstandings. Erotic fans will certainly love the hot and sizzling love scenes.

Cross is part of a special military shifter group, who is taking a break from his normal life. He's on his home turf when Mae brings Ariadne to Cross to protect. The minute Cross meets Ariadne his bear tells him she's his mate. Cross isn't sure he wants a mate, especially one that is human. 

It isn't long before trouble comes Cross and Ariadne's way. Can Cross get Ariadne to safety before its too late. 

This is a pretty short story that would have been interesting if it was a little longer. I enjoy the world Elle Thorne has built around Mae and her "nephews". It would be nice to have a full length novel as part of the series. 

One note, I once took a writing class which referenced naming characters and not making it a name that isn't common enough that the name doesn't just roll off the tongue. I think this is just one of those cases. 

Although Ariadne is a beautiful name, and I appreciate the use of a name from Greek mythology, is it a name that just didn't come easy to read throughout the story. 

(In Greek mythology means Ariadne is the daughter of Pasiphae and the Cretan king Minos. In Britannica.com says "She fell in love with the Athenian hero Theseus and, with a thread or glittering jewels, helped him escape the Labyrinth after he slew the Minotaur, a beast half bull and half man that Minos kept in the Labyrinth.")

Good sports themed story with a shifter football theme. On the plus side there is a good amount of suspense going through the story with the rivalry between Jae and Nico each fighting to keep Cass. But there are a few problems in the story that stand out. Nevertheless those who like dragon stories will find this book entertaining.

This is the first book I've read by this author and I will say that the theme was so different from many erotic romances, I'd be interested in checking out some more of his titles. You'll have to give it a try to see what you think.

One other note: Form what I've seen on his Amazon list, it seems that Paul Lonardo has a wide selection of novels to choose from. Not only does he write romance, but also other non-fiction, fiction and biographies.

Now some hunk of a bear/man like Clan Chief Malvin Dacus might be fun for a night, but a little too complicated to get involved with for Izo's taste. 

Malvin is at the Queen's kingdom in hopes for a rich mate to help but some much needed money into his own kingdom. He first thought of mating Izo's daughter, but it turned out she was already taken. Now he wouldn't mind spending some time with the mother. 

It isn't until Malvin spends some time with Izo that he realizes she just might be his mate, but while he's trying to figure out how to court the Queen of a neighboring land, Malvin's sister is out for Melvin's seat as ruler and she will do almost anything to get it. 

This is book three of this series, but it is the first I've read. It didn't seem that I'd missed too much, aside from the first meeting of the Izo and Dacus. That doesn't mean that it wouldn't be best to read the first two book to the series before moving on the third. 

I loved the Queen. Izo has a little wild in her. There is nothing demure about her. She's also willing to fight for her male. Malvin is a young hunk of a man. He has a lot of worries, but is still out to have a good time. The two together are dynamite. Neither is calm and both area alpha and rulers in their own right. This book is more of a fun romp, than a sweet romance.

When he meets his mate Carla, he is in the process of finding a warrior partner and in need of medical attention from the ceremony the Preor Offense Master goes through to find one. 

Carla is a nurse who has been hired by the Preor to help take care of human mates who have become pregnant. She never thought she would meet her mate on the Preor ship, but when she realizes the position that her mate holds she isn't at all happy to be mated. She swore she would never get involved with a military man just like her father and Rendan appears to be just like him. 

Now that he has found his mate Rendan can't let her go and needs to figure out how to make her his. 

As usual, Celia Kyle has a knack for world building and sci-fi fans will love the future earth. This book adds to the other books, but showing more information on how much the world has changed. One of the most fun was when she describes how Carla is excited about the chance to was dishes because she gets to put her hands in real water during the cleaning process. 

The story includes some suspense as well, as not everyone is happy about Redan's search for a warrior partner and causes a bit of a ruckus.

Quick read with good world building. Great read for science fictions, alien human romance fans.

What a nice way to check out a variety of authors who focus on shifter stories. Hot Shifter Nights feature 10 short stories form today's paranormal authors, some you may have heard of and some you may just get to experience for the first time. 

Of the 10 stories, I did run into one I had already read, but since I'd enjoyed it the first time, I didn't mind reading it a second time. One story was part of a serial, but peek my interest enough to check out the continuation of the story. 

While I can't say that all the stories are worth a Five Heart Review, but right off the bat, the first story "Damnation" drew me in and got me checking out more stories by Anna Lowe who was a new author to me. 

Another new author to me was Marie Mason. I fully enjoyed "Stranded with the Wolf". 

"Liam's Bride" by Emma Alisyn was the book I had read before and wound up getting the rest of the series to read after I read it the first time.

Elizabeth Lennox's two stories include stories about half brother Sheikh's, Najid and Jual. Sheikh Najid falls for the young math wiz, Ana. Ana is all for a chance to spend so time with Najid, but a future with the Sheikh in charge of the country isn't something she's sure she's up to.

Jual is all about protecting his family at all cost, but there is something about Sonya that he wants to learn more about. He just can't decide if he should trust her because something about her story is making him think she's hiding something and if she is could she be in on the threat to his brother's life?

The set of books also includes a nice conclusion to Leslie North's Tadros, featuring twins Zafar and Adyan, feature each twin in their own story and the women who are very different from the women they are used to as their love match. I loved Belle's character. She wants so much to prove to her family that she can be her own woman and Prince Zafar is so traditional and conflicted about his feelings for Belle. Even though this is such a short story you still have the chance to really relate to the couple how they find what they need in each other.
