Everyone has their own motives in the well written book number six of Immortals After Dark series. Trying to keep them straight is the easy part. Heroine, Sabine, is a Sorceress. She has one main goal and that is to live.

Her half-brother Omort the Deathless, the evil king of Rothkalina, sends Sabine to capture and seduce Rydstrom the Demon King. Omort knows that Rydstrom is trying to find a sword that is said to be able to kill Omort.

Sabine has her own plans for the future. She hopes that if she can use Rydstrom to produce an heir with her, she will be able to get rid of Omort and take over the throne. With her beauty and illusion power she is sure she will have no problem in achieving her goal.

Little does she know that Rydstrom is on to her plan to seduce him and he doesn't want any part of her or Omort's plans. Rydstrom has his own plan. He wants to kill Omort and recapture his throne. On the way to meet an accomplice in his quest, he is fooled by Sabine's illusions into stepping through a portal to a cell in the dungeon of his old castle in Rothkalina.
