In book 5 of the Silver Town Wolf Series the MacTire sisters are finishing up their work on the town Inn and just in time for Christmas. But the sisters have big secret that they aren't sharing with the town, the wolf pack they have joined when moving to the area or CJ Silver, who has made it clear he has a special interest in the oldest MacTire sister Laurel. When his alpha assigns CJ to stay at the in to keep on eye on a group that is out to find ghosts at the hotel there are a lot more secrets that come to life.

Laurel and her sisters came to town and purchased the old Inn in hopes of finding out what happened to their aunt years ago when she disappeared. They can't tell the pack or CJ because they don't know who to trust, but when CJ and Laurel begin to spend time together, Laurel knows she won't be able to keep her secrets for long and soon she'll need CJ's help to solve the mystery.

While this story is book 5 in the series, there is enough information within the story so that it isn't necessary to read the other stories to enjoy this book. The story offers good storyline with likable characters. The introduction to the secondary characters for possible secondary stories in the series was just enough to interest readers to take a look forward and backward in the series. One of the best parts about the story was the background mystery from the past and the description of the world around the hero and heroine, right down to the scenery of the fictional town.

Description:
IT’S A SILVER TOWN CHRISTMAS
CJ Silver and his brothers have returned to Silver Town eager to reconnect with the pack. And with the she-wolf newcomers renovating the old Victorian Silver Town Hotel, it looks like the holidays are going to be very merry indeed.

AND THE WOLVES ARE READY TO HOWL

Laurel MacTire and her sisters are excited to be living in a wolf-run town, but they have another motive— to solve the fifty-year-old mystery of their aunt’s disappearance. When CJ gets a whiff of trouble brewing, his protective instincts kick in—now Laurel has a hotel opening to prepare for, a mystery to solve, and a brawny wolf shifter underfoot. Perhaps she should have resisted the temptation to kiss him so wickedly in the snow…

Romance Book Review: Celia Kyle's Fast and Furriest

Author: Celia Kyle
ISBN: n/a
Genre: Paranormal romance
Publisher: Celia Kyle

Women came from far and wide after hearing about secret tiger shifters, who with a pull of their tail, will become mated for life. After finding out that her new boyfriend is a secret tiger shifter and inadvertently announcing weretigers' existence to the world, reporter Zoe just has to go back and see if she can talk to her weretiger and apologize. She isn't sure she isn't going to make it out alive, but she has to try.

Ares has worked hard to protect his pride and all the weretigers out there. When all the other kinds of shifters stepped into the public eye and revealed themselves the tigers stayed in hiding, until one reporter left the cat out of the bag. Unfortunately it was his fault because he had to have Zoe and as the leader of all the weretigers it was his job to get the tigers out of this mess.

Things aren't always what they seem, but can Zoe convince the tigers that she isn't there to hurt them before the swarm of women start pulling all the tails.

One of my favorite Celia Kyle books I read so far, with the exception of the fact that the story starts in the middle of their love affair. I kept wanting to read how the two met and how their first interactions.

Description:
Ladies, like a tiger’s stripes? Tug his tail and keep him forever!

The wolves came first. Followed by the bears. Finally, lions decided to play in the spotlight, but the tigers have held off. Let everyone else get stared at. Ares was happy on his mountain with his pride while humans thought they knew all about the different shifter species.

Their secret was safe…until her. One reporter took tigers from the shadows and thrust them into the limelight by releasing a picture of a tiger shifting. Specifically — him. (What could he say? A little moonlight, a little fur…)

Now he has a town of stripe-hunting women looking for a tiger’s tail to pull and… a full moon on the horizon.

Can he keep his tigers from being mated against their will? Better yet, can he forgive the one woman responsible for outing his species? Ares isn’t sure, but he’s willing to give it a shot.

Matt Richardson moves to small town Crystal Springs to help his brother build his dude ranch and in hopes of helping his daughter heal from the death of her mother. Matt is extremely protective over his young daughter and forbids her to go back to horse riding because it is too dangerous as far as he is concerned.

But Chloe loves horse riding and seeing that she is miserable without her favorite hobby, Matt's mother takes matters into her own hands and signs up Chloe for riding lessons behind Matt's back at Francie Bennett's horse ranch. When Matt's mother breaks her leg at the ranch, Matt becomes even more protective, but soon he's convinced against his better judgement to allow Chloe to continue her lessons. With one condition, he has to be with her when she is taking her lessons.

Unfortunately, that means he has to also spend more time with Chloe's instructor Francie. So far the two haven't hit it off real well.

Francie Bennett needed to come home from college to not only help her parents when her father becomes ill, but become she finds herself pregnant after her cheating ex-boyfriend leaves her. Now with a new plan to prove herself after making the big mistake of her life, Francie doesn't see herself having time for a man in her life.

Feeling their way through their growing relationship, Francie and Matt come against some challenges that threaten their happily ever after.

An emotional contemporary romance, this story runs slow a few times throughout the story, but a good story so keep reading. Both Francie and Matt have a lot to work out before they find the HEA.

Description:
When Francie Bennett’s father is diagnosed with dementia and she discovers she’s pregnant by her cheating ex-boyfriend, she leaves college to help take care of her ailing father and have her baby.

Matt Richardson lost his father and wife to preventable accidents and will do whatever it takes to keep his daughter safe, even forbidding her life’s passion—riding horses. When his mother sneaks Chloe to a riding lesson, Matt feels like he’s lost control, and there’s nothing he hates worse.

Eventually, Matt gives in and allows Chloe to take riding lessons but only under one condition: he’s always there. Unfortunately, nothing has ever affected his feeling of being out of control worse than falling for the fiery, red-haired riding instructor whose life revolves around horses.

As her father worsens and her due date nears, Francie is determined to prove she can handle everything by herself, even if that means keeping the man she cares about at a distance. But when Francie’s life takes a dangerous turn, will she let Matt in and allow him to help her? And will the power of love be strong enough for Matt to finally overcome his deepest fears?

Josie runs from thugs who want to pay her mother's debt. She takes on a new job as a veterinarian assistant. Things heat up pretty quickly for Josie and her flirty new boss, Conan but soon Josie starts to notice some strange things about her new boss.

The minute Conan meets Josie he knows that she's his mate. He's waited a long time for his wolf to find its true mate and he couldn't be happier that his wolf chose Josie. Now all he wants to do is take her for his own and let her know what it is like to be alpha of his pack, but first he wants her to get to know him a little better.

Those where the plans, but circumstances change quickly, but is it too quickly for Josie to understand what her new life will be back?

Explaining how the wolves made their way from the US was interesting, however it would have been more interesting if the author would have done more scene setting throughout the book. As it was it didn't matter whether they were in London, or the US as the story was presented.

Not sure this book is planned to be the first in a series, but the Whisper Pride Pack looks like it would make a good shifter series with future stories about other members of the pack.

Description:
What happens when the Alpha of a wolf shifter pack discovers that his mate is human and she has no idea shifters even exist?

Conan, the Alpha of the Whisper Pride wolf pack, has to hire a new veterinary nurse when his current one leaves to have her pups. As soon as Josie walks through the door and he picks up her scent he knows he's found his mate. But there's a slight problem—she's human and has no idea shifters actually exist.

Josie has had to flee her hometown to escape the local thug who has some very nasty plans in store for her. She strikes it lucky, finding a job that also offers a free apartment as part of the package. Discovering that her boss is sex on legs is an extra bonus. When Conan informs her that he's a wolf shifter and she's his mate, she thinks he's nuts…until she sees him shift. She's fascinated, but wonders if she could ever fit into this strange new world.

Trouble isn't far behind Josie. It's not long before the thug tracks her down, and that may mean the end of everything.

Content Warning: contains strong language, some violence, and lots of hot, steamy sex scenes

Romance Book Review: Ivy Sinclair's Ready to Bear

Author: Ivy Sinclair
Series Connection: Greyelf Grizzly Clan and Urban Dwellers
ISBN: 9781517562212
Genre: Paranormal Romance, Shifter Romance
Publisher: Shadow Creek Press

Purchase Link: Amazon

Sheriff Billy Miller hates the big city, but to catch, Joshua, the man who has been tormenting his clan, he'll go and get this mad man before he can do any more harm. Even if it means having to face the Urban Dwellers who really want nothing to do with his alpha or his clan.

While heading out to meet the Urban Dwellers, Billy hear a distress call and rescues Thea, who just happens to be the step sister of one of the Urban Dweller and Billy's mate. It doesn't take long for Billy to be completely enamored with Thea, but he isn't sure that he should try to mate with her. For one thing, she's from a rich family which is so out of his own social status and second of all he is still working on finishing what he came to the city for in the first place before anyone else gets hurt.

The odds aren't looking good for Billy when Joshua poisons Billy and sends him a challenge he can't refuse.

Ready to Bear is a spin off of the Greyelf Grizzly Clan where Billy is the local sheriff who's relationship with Maren was cut short when Lukas comes back to town and decides to take back his mate. The author describes this as a stand alone story, however I found that it would have been interesting to read the four part Greyelf series first to get a more in depth view of the world the author has created. This story also introduces the characters to the new Urban Dwellers series, first book to be released in November, and the introduction of the three alphas involved in that series.

Billy is a straight forward, what you see is what you get kind of character. I also liked Thea, as she's no push over. I liked the world the author creates, however I thought the end left too many questions, that I'm sure will be answered in the new series, but again doesn't make this book much of a standalone.

Description:
Sheriff Billy Miller wasn’t sure what to expect when he landed in Copper City. Tracking a suspect from one of his cold cases led him to the doorstep of the Urban Dwellers, a trio of men who have no love lost for Billy or the Greyelf Grizzly Clan. He certainly didn’t anticipate meeting his mate in the process.

What Thea Philips knows about shifters came from her brother, Eric Carmichael, one of the three founding members of the Urban Dwellers. But then Thea comes face to face with the dark underbelly of the shifter community and is saved by Billy Miller, someone she never expected to meet much less be attracted to.

Billy and Thea’s budding romance is threatened when it becomes apparent that someone has set their sights on taking Billy out of the picture for good. Now it’s a race against time to find the one thing that will save his life, but it forces secrets from his past out in the open. Secrets that Thea has to decide if she can accept, if Billy makes it through alive.

This is a full-length, standalone new adult contemporary romance novel intended for readers 18+.
