Romance Book Review: Celia Kyle's Wolf's Mate

Title: Wolf’s Mate
Author: Celia Kyle
Series Connection: Shifter Rogues
Genre: Paranormal, Shifter Romance
Date of Release: August 1, 2017

Purchase Link: Amazon

Danger shouldn’t be this sexy . . .
Cougar shifter Abby Carter always plays it safe. That’s why she’s an accountant—no excitement, no danger, and no cocky alpha males. She loves her quiet life, but fate has other plans. When Abby uncovers the shady dealings of an anti-shifter organization, she’ll have to trust the too-sexy-for-her-peace-of-mind werewolf

Declan Reed . . . or end up six feet under.
Declan Reed is starting over. After two years with Shifter Operations Command, it’s time to put his past behind him. Now Declan is the only thing standing between the gorgeous Abby and an early grave, and if he’s going to have any chance of keeping her alive, he’ll have to embrace the darkness he’s fought to keep at bay. But first he has to convince Abby that there’s no safer place in the world than the arms of a big bad werewolf.

I'm a big fan of Celia Kyle. She has a fantastic ability to make you laugh out loud while you're reading. Many of her stories are quick reads. "Wolf's Mate" is a little different from her previous books. This one is a little more serious in nature and a little longer than some of her others.

In Wolf's Mate the two lead characters are a little more complicated. The hero, Declan, knows that he isn't a good person and can't possibly be good enough for innocent Abby.

Abby witnessed her parents being killed by a group that kills shifters when she was a child. When she grew up she decides to live a quiet life as an accountant. Two couldn't be more different.

I also think she spent a little more time world building on her subject, which leaves the reader a chance to get into the characters and the story behind the characters relationship.

This is a continual series, although you could stop with just this one story, but you'll be looking forward to reading more in the end.

A very short Preor story. Chashan and his mate have been in most of the previous stories, it is nice to see a story where a mated Preor pair is the subject of a story.

Romance Book Review: Celia Kyle's The Werewolf Tycoon's Baby

The Werewolf Tycoon's Baby
Author: Celia Kyle
Series Connection: Howls Romance Book 1
Genre: Paranormal Werewolf Secret Baby Romance

Purchase Link: Amazon

❤ ❤ ❤

Celia Kyle takes a different track with The Werewolf Tycoon's Baby. In previous books by this author you see a lot of sass and circumstance, but in this book we see a more serious side. On a holiday vacation, full human Lissa meets a Greek tycoon and falls madly in love, she gives the man her virginity and oops, of course get pregnant. Learning their is a master plan in action to steal her baby from her and dispose of her, Lissa runs from the man she comes to find out is a werewolf. The start of the books finds Lissa caught by the werewolf tycoon, Galen, and dragged back to Greece.

Galen, of course, has no idea why she ran, but Lissa doesn't realize this. While I like this book it runs pretty much like one would predict. I was hoping for some turns and twists. However, I did like the writing and hope that Celia will consider using this more serious approach in future books. This book is definitely worth a read.

Description:
She thinks he's after her child, but what he really wants is… her.

For Melissa Hill, a relaxing vacation to Greece involved not only sand, but billionaire Galen Liakos as well. Their passion burned hot and bright, but when their love was threatened and their differences became painfully clear, Melissa disappeared with a hastily scribbled note.

Thank you for a wonderful vacation…

Galen Liakos is not merely a billionaire, he is the Alpha of the Liakos pack, and he is not one to be denied. Melissa is his mate, and he will have her with him once again. Non-negotiable. When he hunts her down, finding her heavily pregnant and struggling to survive, there is only one answer.

Galen will have Melissa in Greece, in his den, with his ring on her finger, and his claiming bite on her shoulder!

Romance Book Review: Celia Kyle's Brukr

Book Title: Brukr
Series Connection: Dragons of Preor Book 8
Author: Celia Kyle
Genre: Sci-fi/Alien Romance, Weredragon Romance

Purchase Link: Amazon

❤ ❤ ❤ ❤

As a member of Prior quintet, Brukr is charged with protecting the women working to ensure that all human woman learn about the cure for Pol Mutation. One female in particular has been causing Brukr a lot of frustration. Hannah is a little too independent for Brukr’s taste, but Brukr takes his position seriously.

Brukr has always been attracted to Hannah, but since he has not felt the “knowing” with Hannah how can she be his mate? He keeps his distance waiting to see if fate has gifted him her mate after she accepts the cure.

But Hannah has her secrets. She hasn’t told the Preor exactly who she is and has not intention of getting the cure. When her past catches up with her, will Brukr be able to keep her safe or will he lose her to another.

Taking place in an alternate earth where aliens have taken a place in the world to help the humans who have destroyed the planet, these weredragons are on a journey to find their fated mates. When they finally find their mates there is much to learn between the two male and female in every relationship. Often communication between the two the hardest obstacle to face.

Hannah and Brukr are both running for their wounded pasts trying to make their way in the world. Both independent and wanting the best for each other. I liked both characters and those in the quintet that make up the background story.

The ship’s computer, and the hacker “Liquid Knot”, are being further developed in this story, I suspect that there will be more about the hacker in a future story. I can’t wait to see what the author has in store in future books.

Description:
He’s willing to lose his honor to claim her, but first he must save her.

The Preor emperor bestowed honors on warrior Brukr sen Zak’lu centuries ago—honors he does not deserve. Since then, he has fought to prove himself worthy of the emperor’s support. He works to protect and care for the females within Preor Tower no matter how difficult they make his task. One female constantly disregards orders and makes his duty nearly impossible. Hannah—with her flowing hair, teasing smiles, and generous curves—torments him with what he cannot have. He aches for her like no other, his dragon rages when he leaves her side, but without the Knowing stretching between them he cannot claim her. Or can he?

Genetic modifications have changed Hannah’s appearance, but they can’t change her past. To atone, she steps into the spotlight as a spokesperson for Cole-Daven and moves into Preor Tower. Every day she struggles to convince other humans to accept Cole-Daven’s treatment for Pol Mutation. She also fights her attraction to one specific alien Preor. They’re not mates, but everything in her craves the large, muscular, deliciously tempting dragon shifting warrior.

With her exposure to the public, Hannah now has humans after her. Some want to possess her, others want to torture her, and many want to kill her. That is unacceptable to Brukr and he will tell them so… with his war blades.

Book 12 in the Ridgeville Series takes place 15 years after were lions Alex and Maya first mated. Now they have the twins—East and West— and a young daughter—Harper. Maya has always wanted to bring a were-hedgehog into the pride and she might just have her chance. The book invites the reader to check out a day in the life of Alex and Maya and their Ridgeville pride.

Like always this Celia Kyle novella has everything from a little drama, a little fun, a little sexy time and even a little crazy.

Romance Book Review: Celia Kyle's Not So Little Green Men

Not So Little Green Man
Series Connection: Celestial Mates
Author: Celia Kyle
Genre: Scifi Alien Romance

Purchase Link: Amazon

Running from a life she doesn’t want Jassa runs to the only thing she can think of that will allow her to have the future she wants. That life brings her to an alien planet where everything is different, but she assured that she will meet her mate.

Vroe is the High Warlord of his whole family. He hasn’t been able to find his destined mate on his own planet, so he goes to earth to see if Celestial Mates can find a match for him. Now Jassa is with him, but he can’t quite claim her yet. The timing couldn’t be worse for Vroe.

There are other obstacles in their way as well, will Jassa have to go back to earth where she will be forced into a life she doesn’t want? Or will they come together?

Another good book from Celia Kyle. This sci-fi romance is hot in all the right places, and as always a little too short. It felt a little rushed toward the end, but enough to get the Celestial Mates series started. Sci-fi readers will enjoy the world the author has created…complete with puppy-cats and all.

Description:
What’s a big, bad (sometimes green) alien to do when he wants a mate who isn’t motivated by greed? Contact Celestial Mates. After all, their business is romancing the galaxy.

Since she’s creeping up on the age of bearing service, the Earth government wants Jassa to have a baby and then hand it off for a family to raise, but Jassa wants her own family. Which means calling Celestial Mates. One questionnaire, a bit of blood, and a race to get away from the Department of Population, and she’s got her wish—tall, sexy as hell, and occasionally green alien Vroe, the High Warlord of Vialea.

Vroe aches for a mate who doesn’t see him as just a rise in status. He wishes for warmth and affection and goes to Celestial Mates to find… Jassa Marizen. Yet his ideas about mating—Jassa mating him and forever being known as only Vrya—collide with hers. She doesn’t want to lose her past. He wants her to embrace her future.

And then there’s this other woman… She just wants Vroe to herself.

Romance Book Review: Celia Kyle's Zadri

Title: Zadri
Series Connection: Dragons of Preor
Author: Celia Kyle
Genre: Paranormal Romance, Sci-Fi Romance, Dragon Shifter Romance

Purchase Link: Amazon

After being rejected by her snobbish parents when she becomes pregnant without a wedding ring and being thrown aside by the baby’s father, Delaney decides to take her chances and see if she could find a mate with the Preors. Unfortunately her first mate turns out to be a bad catch, even if she didn’t have the chance to really meet him.

When she wakes up in Preor medical room, Delaney finds a second mate, Zadri. Although this one is a great catch, there are those who want to get their hands on her and take her away from Zaire.

Zaire was given up at birth by his parents for not being perfect. He never thought that he was worthy of a mate, but when Delaney comes into his life he isn’t about to let her go.

Zadri is the fifth installment to the Dragons of Preor series. I’ve read a lot of Celia Kyle’s stories and enjoy her witty sense of humor. This series shows a different style for the author as well as adding a sci-fi twist to her normal paranormal theme. Rather than slowing down on the same theme, as some authors do on book five, Celia Kyle is just getting better this book showed more suspense and character development than her previous books.

It isn’t necessary, but for first timers it is recommended that you read at least one or two of the previous stories as this book doesn’t go into as much background as some of the previous editions in this series.

Description:
What’s a single, pregnant woman supposed to do when her family kicks her out? Go to Preor Choosing Station Tau and hope a dragon shapeshifting alien is her mate, of course.

Delaney Cole found her mate among the Preor only to watch him die—through his own eyes thanks to the Knowing.  Now, what’s she supposed to do when she discovers that her second mate is the male who’d killed her first?  It doesn’t matter that he’s gorgeous, that his peach scales invite her touch, and his thick muscles make her fingers tingle with the need to caress him.  She shouldn’t want such a violent, deadly male, but… she does.

Zadri was born a son of Syh, orphaned and unwanted, and he never imagined actually havinga mate.  Yet, Delaney is his. Yes, he was the one to rip out her first mate’s throat, but now that he has experienced the Knowing with her, he will not let her go. Her lush curves, inner strength, and unborn young belong to him—wholly and until he takes his final flight.

When others attempt to rip her from his life, he will explain the gravity of their error. Slowly. Painfully. He only hopes he can reach her before they escape.

Romance Book Review: Celia Kyle's Rendan

Rendan
Author: Celia Kyle
Series Connection: Dragons of Preor
Genre: Scifi Alien, Dragon Romance

Purchase Link: Amazon

Preor dragon Rendan came to earth with his fellow Preors to find mates after females of their kind were mostly killed in war. Now the Preors search for mates that they can bond with. As Offense Master Rendan is a warrior and protector of his people. When he meets his mate Carla, he is in the process of finding a warrior partner and in need of medical attention from the ceremony the Preor Offense Master goes through to find one.

Carla is a nurse who has been hired by the Preor to help take care of human mates who have become pregnant. She never thought she would meet her mate on the Preor ship, but when she realizes the position that her mate holds she isn't at all happy to be mated. She swore she would never get involved with a military man just like her father and Rendan appears to be just like him.

Now that he has found his mate Rendan can't let her go and needs to figure out how to make her his.

As usual, Celia Kyle has a knack for world building and sci-fi fans will love the future earth. This book adds to the other books, but showing more information on how much the world has changed. One of the most fun was when she describes how Carla is excited about the chance to was dishes because she gets to put her hands in real water during the cleaning process.

The story includes some suspense as well, as not everyone is happy about Redan's search for a warrior partner and causes a bit of a ruckus.

Description:
Violence is never the answer… unless you’re a Preor warrior.

Rendan sen Tarkan, Offense Master to the Preor Third Fleet, has found his human mate. She is small compared to him, but her curves, delicious scent, and sky blue eyes call out to his soul. He has waited for a female for over two centuries and he will fight—kill—any who dare attempt to take her. Even one of his own males.

One moment Carla was unemployed and the next she was on the Preor battleship, working as a nurse for human-Preor mates. Oh, and the next moment? That was when she found her sexy, alien pink-scaled mate. Then she watched the muscular dragon shifter get beat to hell. And then she was assigned a condo in Preor Tower on Earth. The person in the condo next door? That sexy, alien pink-scaled male.

Learning about the proud alien warrior isn’t trouble free, but it’s easier than almost dying. Yeah, almost. But the Preor who tried to end her life? Well, he doesn’t quit easily. She only hopes Rendan is there to save her when the alien tries to end her life once again.

Romance Book Review: Celia Kyle's Kozav

Kozav
Author: Celia Kyle, Erin Tate
Series Connection: Dragons of Preor
Genre: Scifi Alien Romance, Shifter Romance, Dragon Romance

Purchase Link: Amazon

❤ ❤ ❤

Kozav is a Primary Warrior on the Preor ship. He and a group of his men are injured and sent to a hospital on earth, but none of the doctors want to work on them and leave them for dead.

When nurse Grace Hall arrives at work, she sees the Preors and immediately gets to work trying to repair the damage. Unaware that she is being fed information from the Preor's mating experience, she is able to help all the aliens until their own healers arrive.

When Kozav wakes from his injuries back on the ship he realizes something is different and the "knowing" kicks in. He knows that sometime while he was unconsious he met his mate, now all he has to do is find her.

When he finally does, he finds that helping his men has cause her health issues and takes her back to his ship where his healers can help her. But when she wakes all Grace can think about is the fact that she has obligations back at home.

It doesn't help that not everyone on the Preor ship is happy that yet another human mate has been found. It seems Kozav and Grace have a lot to work out before that can have their HEA.

This story had all the elements of one of Celia Kyle's entertaining stories, but something is holding me back from giving it a "5 Heart" review. I liked Grace and the fact that she has so much going on in her young life and just plows forward to make the best of everything. She has two jobs and takes care of her mother at all costs.

She is a very independent woman and that certainly makes her very different from the kind of woman, Kozav sees himself with. I don't really think the story had a chance to touch on that very important issue. Compromise is talked about, but with the current situation on the ship, I can't really see this as a place where Grace would thrive, which makes me think she would be very unhappy in that situation. Making this couple not so compatible.

That said, it is a good read and an interesting addition to the series, where the author goes into more detail about earth before the aliens came.

Description:
Kozav found his mate and then he lost her. Now it’s time to hunt…

Grace Hall is a nurse, not a doctor. But when five Preor warriors are brought to the emergency room and the doctors won't touch the aliens, she steps forward. One warrior draws her more than the others. His teal wings, muscular body, and pain-glazed eyes have her torn between two desires — needing his touch and desperation to heal him. She’s going to save the Preor males, even if it kills her. When she loses consciousness after healing them, she realizes it just might.

Kozav sen Aghin, Primary Warrior of the Preor Third Fleet, wakes on the Preor battleship fully healed yet plagued by a feeling that something is wrong. And something is… Kozav's mate was left behind on Earth—alone and unprotected. Unacceptable. Kozav's guilt for his actions in the past still plague him and he is determined not to fail again. The curvaceous, green-eyed, dark haired human female is his to protect, his to claim and his to keep.

When someone attempts to murder Grace, Kozav is prepared to do whatever it takes to keep her safe. Even if it means killing one of his own. Or will it be Kozav with a sword through his chest?

Romance Book Review: Celia Kyle and Erin Tate's Taulan

Author: Celia Kyle, Erin Tate
Series Connection: Dragons of Preor
Genre: Scifi, Alien, Weredragon, Romance

Purchase Link: Amazon

❤ ❤ ❤ ❤

Dragon of Preor series continues with scenes from the fight on the ship as the Primary Master of the ship, Taulan, fights to keep control of his ship.

After losing his wings in battle, Taulan feels he is unworthy and just wishes to go back to his home planet. Now healed he serves as a protector to the princess of the Ujai race. Still fighting with his feelings of inadequacy Taulan brings his charge down to the beach, where he meets his mate, Lana.

Lana, running from her abusive ex-boyfriend, uses a false name to get a job at the Ujay compound. Waiting on the beach for her job interview, Lana sees a young child in distress in the water and runs to the rescue. But being the good samaritan isn't always the best idea, especially when she winds up in the Ujay prison.

Taulan isn't about to let his mate be detained by the Ujai, but her release comes with a price for Lana.

Good reading for sci-fi fans. As in the other books so far in this series, the world building is great and the characters are likable and work well together. Don't have to read the rest of the series to enjoy this book, but it would worth the reads to check out both the stories about the Preor and the Ujai.

Description:
He wants to return to Preor and she wants a job, but you don’t always get what you want.

Lana Cooper is down to her last hundred dollars, has no job, and her clunker of a car has finally clunked out. How has her life become such a cluster of horribleness? Oh, right. A guy. Only she doesn’t get a chance to beg for a job. Nope, one walk along the beach changes everything. Oh, she has a job now… as the mate to a hot, hunky Preor dragon male.

Taulan sen Pavon is anxious to return to his home on Preor. Yes, he’d journeyed to Earth in hopes of finding a human mate, but now… Now he would like to heal in the privacy of his aerie. Wings destroyed and body damaged by an explosion, he has no desire to watch others find joy with their mates while he remains unworthy and alone on a ship filled with thousands. But then he finds Lana. Lana with her alluring smile, sparkling eyes, luscious body, and whose mere presence initiates the Knowing.

Can he live long enough to claim her? Can she see past her father’s prejudice to love him? Both questions are pointless because there are still Preor who despise the joining of humans and dragons. They will stop at nothing to drive a wedge between the races. Including murder.

Romance Book Review: Erin Tate, Celia Kyle's Jerek

Author: Erin Tate, Celia Kyle
Series Connection: Dragons of Preor
ASIN: B01A9S4FPI
Genre: Sci Fi Romance

Purchase Link: Amazon

As War Master Jerek is expected to work out a deal between his people and those from earth to help his people find mates from earth. He expects this to be his last mission, because after more than 450 years he has yet to find his mate. He expects this means that he will start to slowly go insane.

While Jerek hopes to find mates for his fellow Preor, but not himself. He believes there is no mate to be found for him.

Jerek couldn't be more wrong. The first human woman the Preor meets, Melissa, turns out to be Jerek's mate.

Not all the Preor are looking to mess up their gene pool by adding humans to the mix. Several of Jerek's men attack the ship before agreements can be made and nearly kill him.

Melissa isn't too sure she is interested in being a mate to a Preor, but once Jerek is hurt, she steps in to help him recover. When mates spend time together who knows what can happen.

Celia Kyle writes as Erin Tate for her Sci-Fi. The Sci-Fi books have a different voice from her shifter series. These stories are also a little more complex. Jerek is a strong dragon shifter who lives a lonely solo life. He has given everything for the past four centuries to make up for a terrible deed that his father has done. At the same time, Melissa is still trying to make up for the bad deed her brother committed. The two fit as a good couple. Those who enjoy sci-fi, shifter and romance will enjoy this story.

Description:
What’s hotter than an alien with scales? An alien with wings and scales, not to mention a hot body.

At 457 Preor years old, Jarek sen Claron is a dragon ready for his final flight into the skies. This voyage to Earth as the War Master of the third fleet will be his final assignment. Once he has helped his fellow Preors secure human mates, he will return to Preor before the madness of loneliness overtakes his mind.

That all changes when he meets Melissa. Human Melissa with her sparkling eyes, bright smile, and body that would make any hot-blooded male drool. Unfortunately, she never registered as a Preor mate hopeful. No matter, the Knowing stretches between them and there is no way she can resist him. Until she does.

Jarek wishes to give her the choice to mate him, while everything inside him screams to take Melissa beneath his wing, now. No choosing necessary.

But should he draw her to his side when his enemies are circling? Many males do not believe the son of a Preor mass murderer deserves to have a mate. Can he survive the coming battles? Or will he die without tasting sweet Melissa’s lips?

Staying at her sister's place in Deals Gap, while she's away, Hannah finds herself in need of a handyman and runs smack into her true mate Ryland.

She's a purebred and from from one of the oldest families of lion shifters. He hasn't had good experiences with purebred shifters in the past.

Can the two get it together before her intended fiancé comes to take Hannah away and kill her truemate?

Not up to some of the funnier Celia Kyle books but not a bad continuation of the Buchanan Clan series. I liked her unique description of Ryland when shifted and his cross between lion and wolf.

Description:

Hannah Buchanan is the oldest daughter to the Buchanan werelion clan leader, twin to Katie Buchanan, and… and blah, blah, blah. Hannah is a lot of things, but she refuses to be defined by her family and their connections. She’s more than an honorable, fertile womb destined for a political mating.

With the DoPE on her wolfy butt, Ronnie father sends her back to the pride her best friend belongs to and the man that could be her mate. Ronnie tried everything to keep away, but when her father, the National Wolf Alpha, makes up his mind there is no changing it.

It doesn't take long before the DoPE finds her and puts not only Ronnie in danger, but also her mate.

Braden doesn't know how he would ever be able to take Ronnie as his mate. After all he's an 800 pound tiger and she's just a little wolf. He's not sure how they would ever get through the tugging tail tradition to be fully bound. But as the threat of the DoPE continues over their heads, Ronnie and Braden can't stay away and will do anything to be together, even not fully mate.

Once again Celia Kyle pulls her story together with laughter, great romance and sharp tongues. I already liked Ronnie in the first book of the series "Fast and the Furriest". She came to the rescue when her best friend sounded in distress over the phone. Braden is the strong Beta, but all alpha, who doesn't want to lead and would rather be all the muscle when needed.

This story is fast based and quick on whit and charm. It can be read alone, but you'll want to check out the first in the series to learn the story of the tigers and why it is so important to "pull their tails".

Description:
Want to mate a wolf? It’s easy. Just make him—er, her—howl.

Braden, the second in the national weretiger pride, put Veronica on a plane back to wolf lands for her own protection. With DoPE—the Department of Paraphysical Entities—secretly determined to control shifters through any means necessary, he needed her out of harm’s way. Especially since “any means necessary” includes the forced mating of the daughters of alphas to humans of DoPE’s choice.

But going home didn’t keep Veronica safe—DoPE still went after her—so now she’s back in Wilden… Back with him. With her so close, her delicious scent calling to him, taunting and teasing him at every turn, he’s not sure he can resist the curvaceous, delicious Veronica much longer. Screw it. He can’t. He wants her and he’ll figure out a way to have her—even if he is a tiger and she’s a wolf.

Except DoPE hasn’t given up. They have new tricks up their sleeves—deadly ones—and they’re resolute to test them on Braden. Can he survive their tactics and keep Veronica safe?

Women came from far and wide after hearing about secret tiger shifters, who with a pull of their tail, will become mated for life. After finding out that her new boyfriend is a secret tiger shifter and inadvertently announcing weretigers' existence to the world, reporter Zoe just has to go back and see if she can talk to her weretiger and apologize. She isn't sure she isn't going to make it out alive, but she has to try.

Ares has worked hard to protect his pride and all the weretigers out there. When all the other kinds of shifters stepped into the public eye and revealed themselves the tigers stayed in hiding, until one reporter left the cat out of the bag. Unfortunately it was his fault because he had to have Zoe and as the leader of all the weretigers it was his job to get the tigers out of this mess.

Things aren't always what they seem, but can Zoe convince the tigers that she isn't there to hurt them before the swarm of women start pulling all the tails.

One of my favorite Celia Kyle books I read so far, with the exception of the fact that the story starts in the middle of their love affair. I kept wanting to read how the two met and how their first interactions.

Description:
Ladies, like a tiger’s stripes? Tug his tail and keep him forever!

The wolves came first. Followed by the bears. Finally, lions decided to play in the spotlight, but the tigers have held off. Let everyone else get stared at. Ares was happy on his mountain with his pride while humans thought they knew all about the different shifter species.

Their secret was safe…until her. One reporter took tigers from the shadows and thrust them into the limelight by releasing a picture of a tiger shifting. Specifically — him. (What could he say? A little moonlight, a little fur…)

Now he has a town of stripe-hunting women looking for a tiger’s tail to pull and… a full moon on the horizon.

Can he keep his tigers from being mated against their will? Better yet, can he forgive the one woman responsible for outing his species? Ares isn’t sure, but he’s willing to give it a shot.

Coming upon a young girl being attacked, wolf shifter Reid strikes first and asks questions later, he probably wouldn't have killed the guy if he would have stopped first but the big bear shifter wouldn't stop. Calling into his boss, the Southwest Itan, Reid has to pass on the news and releases he killed the local Itan and now he was the new clan leader.

When Evelyn called for help she knew she needed to hold on until help arrived. That wasn't easy to do when her uncles were set to killing her after she finally told them who she called.

When Reid finally comes to her rescue and takes out two of her three uncles at once, she knows she's finally found her hero and he works out to be her mate.

Reid isn't sure if he is Itan material after all he's a wolf now in charge of a clan filled with wolves, but when it comes to down to it, the clan is his and he will do everything to protect all that belongs to him. That especially includes Evelyn.

Reid isn't your average hero. He has a lot of rage issues, but I just loved him with Evelyn. Slowly you get to know him and realize that he isn't your average hero, but he'll do whatever he has to to keep everyone safe. This was one of Celia Kyle's longer books and I'm glad she took the time to introduce her character and gave us a chance to see the two together in more scenes than just in the bedroom.

Description:
Reid just killed her father. There’s no way Evelyn’s gonna mate him now… Dammit.

Werewolf Reid Bennett has one goal: investigate the Brookfield clan’s Itan. Reports are coming in that the male is abusing his werebears and–even if he’s a werewolf–Reid will put a stop to it. Unfortunately, the resolution ends up being permanent and now Reid’s the clan’s leader.

The only positive about his new situation: curvy werebear Evelyn Archer. She makes his wolf howl and he aches to explore every inch of her lush frame. He’s the clan’s leader and he knows exactly where he’d like to lead Evelyn—his bedroom.

Evelyn doesn’t know what to do with Reid. Sure, he’s the sexy wolf her werebear wants to nibble and claim, but she has bigger issues to deal with. Such as the fallout of her father’s death… at Reid’s claws.  Okay, maybe she can take a break for one little lick…

They both have plans for the Brookfield clan… and each other. Except there’s a small problem—someone wants them dead. Nothing new for Reid, but a threat against Evelyn is unacceptable. When it comes to Evelyn, he’ll break all the rules to keep her safe, including dusting off his homicidal tendencies again.

Romance Book Review: Celia Kyle's Impawsible

ISBN: N/A
Genre: Paranormal Romance, Shifter Romance, BBW Romance
Publisher: Kindle Words

Bethany Buchanan moves to Deals Gap, North Carolina to start her life over. As a wererabbit she has always been considered prey, despite being taken in by a family of werelions, but things had been getting a little weird back home. Deals Gap is a place where she can be herself. To town is filled with misfit weres, so Bethany hopes to fit in.

Immediately she meets her mat Weretiger/wolf Carter. Carter has no problem with Bethany being a wererabbit and immediately falls for Bethany. He'll do anything to protect her, including protecting her from anyone who see her as prey or wanting to kill her to pay an old debt.

I loved this story. Already I've started to get to know the characters of this series and can't wait to see how the others in the Buchanan clan get to meet their mates. I understand that Mina Carter has also released a book that takes place in Deals Gap called "Werelock" and the whole town of mixed shifters was founded by Eliza Gayle with her Southern Shifters series. So far Celia Kyle is doing a good job continuing Eliza Gayle's stories.

Description:
A wererabbit and a tiger-wolf hybrid? Impawsible!

Wererabbit Bethany Buchanan hopes she can create a new life in Deals Gap, North Carolina. Home to the weird, wacky, and unwanted, it should be a place where she doesn’t have to hide (much) and can be herself (mostly).

When she meets Carter, a hotter than hot tiger-wolf hybrid, she knows she’s found her new home. Especially when he purrs and tells her he wants to eat her… in a very naughty way. Carter loves every inch of her curvy wererabbit body and is willing to do anything to make her happy.

Why? Because Bethany is his mate and he’ll kill to keep her. Which, as it happens, he might just have to do. You see, there’s this vicious werelion from her past and he’s looking for revenge…

Genre: Paranormal Romance, Shifter Romance

Paige is on a the worst job interview of her life, when she runs into her mate, but she's too embarrassed by her own out of control shifts that takes off in less than five minutes of meeting him. When she runs to her best friend for support, she finds that her mate is the brother of her best friend's mate.

When the two meet its magic, but not everyone is pleased that the two have found each other and will stop at nothing to keep them apart.

Cute and funny story of a were-ferret and a were-cougar who meet and immediately know they are mates. Poor Paige doesn't have control of her inner ferret and when she gets frightened whiskers start popping out and her nose starts to twitch, but when she meets Archer her ferret calms down under her mates protections. I enjoyed watching Paige grow stronger under Archer's loving embrace.

Description:
Does love at first sniff exist? Archer and Paige seem to think so. Well, more like Archer says yes and Paige says no. But don’t worry, they’ll work it out in the bedroom.

Wereferret Paige Baxter has an itty-bitty shifting problem. Mainly she spontaneously shifts, and that’s a problem. Her answer is to remain calm, practice yoga, and stay away from anything that could scare her… or surprise her… or arouse her. Of course, the super-hottie hunk of werecougar she runs into at the M&M Mating Agency ticks off all three “must never happen at once” boxes.

Paige does what any embarrassed, self-respecting woman would do in that situation—she runs. Unfortunately—or fortunately—cats love a good hunt.

Chloe is ready to settle down with a good man, but she isn't having any luck. She tries the Internet dating sites with no such luck. After returning home late from another loser date she comes home to find her mother at her apartment to find out that her mother has set her up on yet another dating site, but this time it is for shifter dating service. Secretly Chloe has always had a thing for werecats and can't wait to check out the meet and greet event.

First impressions aren't going to well, until she runs into Holt and then things start to heat up.

Holt can't believe his brother set him up for a shifter dating service to find his mate. It isn't that Holt doesn't want a mate, but he isn't the easiest person to get a long with and he's worried that his mate would run for the hills the minute he meets her. Deciding to give it a try Holt goes to the meet and greet and gets a look at Chloe.

Short, quick read and funny describes this story. As the series says this is a Quick and Furry ready, so don't expect anything really long in this story. While it is a fast read you get a chance to learn enough about both characters to enjoy the story. A fan of both authors, I can see a lot of Mina Carter's influence in this story.

Description:
Sometimes a gal’s gotta admit defeat and decide how many cats she’s gonna have when she’s old and crazy…

Chloe Hall has tried every dating website out there and continues to connect with duds. Then her mother signs her up for a new dating—mating—service. Human or shifter, everyone is welcome as long as they’re looking for love and not their next bang. Chloe doesn’t care if her mate roars and sheds or howls and smells like wet dog. He’ll be hers. It’s not until she meets Holt—a massive, muscular, totally gorgeous werecougar—that she realizes she really will become a cat lady, and he absolutely drives her crazy.

Werecougar Holt Moore’s animal is restless and craves things that scare the shit outta him: a mate, cubs, and a white picket fence. It doesn’t seem to remember that cougars are solitary animals in the wild, which also applies to his human half. His cat is too dominant to tolerate other shifters and when he’s on two legs, he towers over every human he meets. He’s big and mean and that’s how he likes it.
Then he meets Chloe—curvy, luscious, human Chloe—and realizes he needs to add “possessive” and “biggest asshole on the planet” to his list of traits. Well, not all relationships are smooth sailing.

Romance Book Review: Celia Kyle's Pailey

Author: Celia Kyle
Series Connection: Alpha Marked
ISBN-13: 9781680399967
Genre: Paranormal Romance, Werewolf Romance, Witch Romance, Menge Romance, Erotic Romance, BBW Romance

Paisley's story picks up where Lorelei's story ends while her sister's are meeting their mates at the Gathering, Paisley is kidnapped not knowing anything about werewolves and the magic she carries inside. Just when she thinks she's about to come to a disturbing end something blows up and when she realizes it was her own doing that is just the beginning of the story.

Coming to her rescue after she knocks out her captor are two hot looking werewolves, Hawkins and Chance. They have quite a story to tell her and while she is reunited with her sisters Paisley must come to terms with a whole world she doesn't know anything about and figure out why she was kidnapped in the first place.

I purchased this book a while back, but didn't get a chance to read it until just this week. First of all if you have missed the Alpha Marked series I would recommend you read it in order to keep up with who all the characters are and why these sisters and cousins find themselves in the middle of a werewolf war.

Once you get to Paisley's story you are in for a treat. So far my favorite, Paisley's story digs deeper in the personalities between the three chosen mates and pulls in a little more emotion than the other stories. Paisley comes to terms rather quickly with what is going on and I wish with the rest of what is going on she would have held off a bit longer, but otherwise the connection to the rest of the storyline works well.

Not that Celia Kyle has finished with the second set of sisters it will be interesting to see if she decides to go on with a new group of characters.

Description:
Thirty and single? Well, getcha butt to the Gathering! Wait… what?

Paisley Twynham is over the whole werewolf thing. It’d been a shock to be magically kidnapped and plopped in the middle of a werewolf gathering. Then she got kidnapped a second time, had the crap beat out of her, escaped, and then met two men who are supposed to be her mates. Yup, all kinds of “over” the Gathering. Her only salvations are her sisters and… the two men she can’t help but drool over. Tall, muscular, sexy as hell, and for some reason, they want her fluffy ass. Maybe she doesn’t hate werewolves as much as she thought…

Chance and Hawkins don’t quite have a solid Warden bond. Hawkins is holding back while Chance is slowly reaching the end of his patience after ten years of partnership. The only woman who might save them is Paisley. Seductive, curvaceous, vivacious Paisley Twynham. She’s their Warden Born mate and Chance refuses to let Hawkins’ past stand in the way of their future.

But something else hides in their path that threatens to end their mating before it begins. Or rather, someone.
