The crew of the "Bad News Bears" have earned their reputation as far a barkeeper Patrice Monroe can see. They've been banned from all the local bars, and when they make it to her bar they wrecked the place, but she's not going to take it laying down.

Patrice heads to the Bad News Bears camp to make sure they reimburse her for the damage. There she meets alpha Hunt Blackburn and now she can't get him out of her mind.

Hunt is taking care to make sure everything is fixed. His bear wants a mate and Patrice looks good to him. But he's made promises and his crew need him to keep them in line. He isn't sure what he's going to do, but he can't let the cougar get away.

This is the first book by Holly Eastman that I've read and I don't think it will be my last. She's done a great job of added to the popular genre of shapeshifting bears. Bears shifters are almost getting as popular wolves and vampires these days.

In On The Hunt For His Cougar, Eastman has everything from a good romance, some good supporting characters which will probably have their own stories soon, added suspense and even a creepy villain that just might be in over his head.

The grizzly bear shifters in Timber Falls are bad news…

As alpha of a crew with haunted pasts, Hunt Blackburn has only 1 rule: No Mates Allowed. But he’s been so busy denying his own secret mating call for so long, the pressure of resisting is making his entire crew miserable. They argue more, fight more, and the town of Timber Falls has had enough. When a bar fight leaves Hunt’s crew on the hook for damages and possible assault, Hunt knows he has to step up and fix what’s broken. Unfortunately, it’s not going to be as simple as a few screws and nails. Not after Hunt meets the bar owner, Patrice Monroe, a cute, curvy brunette with a past of her own.

Patrice thought she’d left a life of violence behind when she moved to Timber Falls. She has secrets and her safety requires that she keep them. Lay low. Don’t stand out. So when an anti-shifter activist comes poking around, intent on running shifters out of town, Patrice knows she can’t risk being discovered now. But when Hunt begins breaking down her walls, all Patrice wants is to tell the truth to someone who gets it.

Will Hunt break his own rule for Patrice or will he love her and leave her in order to keep her—and all her secrets—safe?

This stand-alone bear shifter novel has a HEA with NO cliffhanger!

The grizzly bear shifters in Timber Falls are bad news…

Grizzly shifter, Grayden Larchmont, fends off the demons of his dark and violent past the only way he knows how: by brawling. Sometimes, his bear just needs to hit something. But after recent events have left the town with a bad taste for shifters, the Bad News Bears are supposed to behave. There are two rules: No fights and no mates. The problem is, since he can’t have the 2nd, Grayden can’t resist the first.

Rachel Hawkins knows what it’s like to be a victim. Ever since that horrific night in college, she vowed to be there to help others through the same awful experience –and maybe even prevent it from happening at all. For her, becoming a cop was a way to balance the scales. That and her resolve to steer clear of men. A strategy that has managed to keep her heart and her body safe for almost 10 years. So, why is it that lately, she can’t stop fantasizing about the gray grizzly from the other side of the mountain? When Rachel arrests Grayden for brawling in an illegal fight club, she’s torn between desire at the way he looks at her and terror for the violence he’s capable of.

When the fight club attempts revenge on her for shutting them down, can Rachel rely on the most dangerous man she’s ever met to keep her body and her heart safe?

Romance Book Review: Emma Alisyn's Bear's Touch

Title: Bear Touch
Series Connection: Clan Healer
Author: Emma Alisyn
Genre: Paranormal Shifter Romance

❤ ❤ ❤

As a healer Lea is in demand, but for all the wrong reasons as far as she’s concerned. She kept from being sold into mating by keeping her head down. Taking care of her cousin while she’s pregnant, Lea gets roped into taking a job for her cousin’s alpha mate. Now she was heading off to the middle of nowhere to help another alpha male and Lea didn’t have a good feeling about this.

Yuri’s stepson was burned by dragon fire and being a new shifter bear, he needs to help from a healer desperately. He’s immediately attracted to Lea, but he expected that because any healer would draw his attention. He’s sure she’s too young for him and Yuri made a promise to Lea’s alpha to protector and not try to mate her.

Quickly Yuri is fighting his attraction and trying to protect Lea from not only from dragons but also from himself.

Lea is having a hard time keeping away from Yuri. He’s not what she wants, but is he just what she needs?

This is a part one to a three part story, but if you just want to read the first story it can stand alone. Good world building for a first book, but apparently reading further brings up a whole more info about the new world that Lea has moved into.

Yuri and Lea are good characters. They work together and keep the reader interested and rooting for them.

Interesting note: This is re-write story from the author’s pen name as a gay romance, so if you feel you read this story before, you may have. The author re-wrote and publish this book under her regular name. She’s decided to stop writing gay romance and move to more MF stories.

A Healer who can kill with a Touch. An Alpha Bear determined to save his son. Will they clash- or will they accept their bond?

Brilliant, skittish Lea spent years downplaying her power as a Healer. She doesn't want to bond to an Alpha, doesn't want to lose control of her life, or her gift. But when called upon by the Territory ruler to do something useful with her gift, Lea reluctantly travels to a strange Clan in order to heal a dangerously injured young Bear.

Alpha Yurii promises he won't try and bond the Healer to him. But resolve flees when he sees the snarky, curvy female for the first time. His Bear knows they were meant to be together- but Yurii can't break his word. And healing his son, Tanner, is more important than convincing a wary Healer that he is worth the risk to her heart and body.

Lea struggles to control her power, struggles to retain her independence in the face of unexpected temptation... should she trust that Yurii isn't a tyrant, but is a rare Alpha male willing to allow her autonomy? Is a fated matebond worth risking freedom- or her life? Because Yurii left out one important detail out when requesting her aid…

Fire breathing Dragons trying to take over the Clan territory.

This paranormal shifter romance is for readers who enjoy sassy, curvy heroines with major ‘tude, alpha males who leave their a**hole side at the gate, fated mates, and enough conflict to keep that thumb swiping left. 1st in a 3 part completed series, steamy love scenes and some language. Not really meant to be read as a standalone.

Previously published under a pen name. Has been substantially revised and re-edited for the enjoyment of a new audience.

Romance Book Review: Celia Kyle's Not So Little Green Men

Not So Little Green Man
Series Connection: Celestial Mates
Author: Celia Kyle
Genre: Scifi Alien Romance

Purchase Link: Amazon

Running from a life she doesn’t want Jassa runs to the only thing she can think of that will allow her to have the future she wants. That life brings her to an alien planet where everything is different, but she assured that she will meet her mate.

Vroe is the High Warlord of his whole family. He hasn’t been able to find his destined mate on his own planet, so he goes to earth to see if Celestial Mates can find a match for him. Now Jassa is with him, but he can’t quite claim her yet. The timing couldn’t be worse for Vroe.

There are other obstacles in their way as well, will Jassa have to go back to earth where she will be forced into a life she doesn’t want? Or will they come together?

Another good book from Celia Kyle. This sci-fi romance is hot in all the right places, and as always a little too short. It felt a little rushed toward the end, but enough to get the Celestial Mates series started. Sci-fi readers will enjoy the world the author has created…complete with puppy-cats and all.

What’s a big, bad (sometimes green) alien to do when he wants a mate who isn’t motivated by greed? Contact Celestial Mates. After all, their business is romancing the galaxy.

Since she’s creeping up on the age of bearing service, the Earth government wants Jassa to have a baby and then hand it off for a family to raise, but Jassa wants her own family. Which means calling Celestial Mates. One questionnaire, a bit of blood, and a race to get away from the Department of Population, and she’s got her wish—tall, sexy as hell, and occasionally green alien Vroe, the High Warlord of Vialea.

Vroe aches for a mate who doesn’t see him as just a rise in status. He wishes for warmth and affection and goes to Celestial Mates to find… Jassa Marizen. Yet his ideas about mating—Jassa mating him and forever being known as only Vrya—collide with hers. She doesn’t want to lose her past. He wants her to embrace her future.

And then there’s this other woman… She just wants Vroe to herself.

Part of the CELESTIAL MATES shared scifi world-o-awesome!

Scarlett would like nothing better than to have a rip roaring time in bed with her boss Knox. She doesn’t care that he’s a geek, with the prettiest brown eyes she seen. Scarlett’s problem is he’s human and she’s a lion shifter. She’s worried one night with him and she’ll tear him apart. Unfortunately her lion won’t listen to her. The lion wants nothing more than to mate Knox. Good thing Knox is in a relationship with another human.

Knox has been lusting after Scarlett since she came to work for him, but she’s the sister of his best friend and way out of his league. That’s what he thinks up until he sees her in a comprising position in his office. Once he breaks it off with his current girlfriend nothing will keep him away from Scarlett.

This is a quick running story with a lot of things happening. Almost too much for such a short story. As usual with Milly Taiden stories there are some pretty erotic scenes, which isn’t so bad, but again a lot of different encounters within a such a short story is just too much. Otherwise the story line was fairly good.

Lioness shifter Scarlett Milan hates that she wants her boss more than her next breath. All she thinks about is how his black-rimmed glasses and bow tie are sexier on him than any other man. But since he’s human, she’s afraid she could break him, even kill him, during a night of wild sex.

Knox Daniels, wimpy bean counter, has lusted after Scarlett since the moment he met her. The fact she’s his best friend’s little sister has stopped all dirty thoughts. Well, almost. After he breaks up with his girlfriend, getting his hands on Scarlett is the first thing on his to-do list. Being murdered was not.

A vicious attack almost kills Knox, but science comes to the rescue. Now he’s no longer the weak human Scarlett was afraid to touch. Actually, no one knows what he is except possessive, aggressive, and demanding she be his. They’ll have to team up to keep him alive while figuring out if he’s a deranged killer or just the most powerful alpha ever known.

Reader's Note: Hang on to your panties, folks. This is going to be quick, dirty and will have your ereader asking for a cigarette. As with all my books, adults only, please. That means if you're a prude and don't like hot sex or dirty talk, step away from the book. All others, I love you freaky people.

Megan is accused of killing her boss, but she didn't do it. The only problem is the cops say all their evidence points to her and her lawyer wants her to take a deal. When Megan meets a stranger who tells her he can get her a lawyer who will help prove her innocence, she has no choice but to go and see if he can really help. But just one minute in his company and she is already having second thoughts.

Werewolf Gavin opened his office door and found that the one woman who could be his perfect mate is also being charged with murder. He didn't want this case in the first place, but now he has to fight even harder than usual to make sure that Megan doesn't go to jail so she can be his.

But Gavin knows a frame up when he sees one and his job may be a lot harder then he thought.

Several twists and turns in this paranormal legal drama romance. The very formal Gavin character is such a contrast from Megan character. I don't want to give up the story, but the ending twist in Megan's character could have gone a little smoother, it was just there all of a sudden. It actually made me not like Megan very much.

In Eve Langlais's Legal Wolf’s Mate—previously published in the anthology Growl— taking on a pro bono murder case isn't a problem for a lawyer who enjoys a challenge. Discovering his new client is his mate? A tad more complicated. Gavin has no intention of settling down, especially not with a woman accused of murder. But the beautiful, fiery Megan has his blood boiling and his heart racing, and it doesn't take Gavin long to know that his fate is sealed...

Romance Book Review: Celia Kyle's Zadri

Title: Zadri
Series Connection: Dragons of Preor
Author: Celia Kyle
Genre: Paranormal Romance, Sci-Fi Romance, Dragon Shifter Romance

Purchase Link: Amazon

After being rejected by her snobbish parents when she becomes pregnant without a wedding ring and being thrown aside by the baby’s father, Delaney decides to take her chances and see if she could find a mate with the Preors. Unfortunately her first mate turns out to be a bad catch, even if she didn’t have the chance to really meet him.

When she wakes up in Preor medical room, Delaney finds a second mate, Zadri. Although this one is a great catch, there are those who want to get their hands on her and take her away from Zaire.

Zaire was given up at birth by his parents for not being perfect. He never thought that he was worthy of a mate, but when Delaney comes into his life he isn’t about to let her go.

Zadri is the fifth installment to the Dragons of Preor series. I’ve read a lot of Celia Kyle’s stories and enjoy her witty sense of humor. This series shows a different style for the author as well as adding a sci-fi twist to her normal paranormal theme. Rather than slowing down on the same theme, as some authors do on book five, Celia Kyle is just getting better this book showed more suspense and character development than her previous books.

It isn’t necessary, but for first timers it is recommended that you read at least one or two of the previous stories as this book doesn’t go into as much background as some of the previous editions in this series.

What’s a single, pregnant woman supposed to do when her family kicks her out? Go to Preor Choosing Station Tau and hope a dragon shapeshifting alien is her mate, of course.

Delaney Cole found her mate among the Preor only to watch him die—through his own eyes thanks to the Knowing.  Now, what’s she supposed to do when she discovers that her second mate is the male who’d killed her first?  It doesn’t matter that he’s gorgeous, that his peach scales invite her touch, and his thick muscles make her fingers tingle with the need to caress him.  She shouldn’t want such a violent, deadly male, but… she does.

Zadri was born a son of Syh, orphaned and unwanted, and he never imagined actually havinga mate.  Yet, Delaney is his. Yes, he was the one to rip out her first mate’s throat, but now that he has experienced the Knowing with her, he will not let her go. Her lush curves, inner strength, and unborn young belong to him—wholly and until he takes his final flight.

When others attempt to rip her from his life, he will explain the gravity of their error. Slowly. Painfully. He only hopes he can reach her before they escape.
