As the one of the lead shifters in the Sentinels organization, Nick Carter is in threat to those who work within the Core group. Gausto is the local regional Prince or Drozhar for the Atrum Core. He wants Nick dead, but not before he extracts as much information he can from Nick. He has a plan to get what he needs out of Nick. It involves Jet. Jet is a wolf shifter just like Nick, but not quite. With Jet loyal to Gausto, Gausto knows that he will finally have what he and his group all want--the destruction of the Sentinels.

What Gausto doesn't count on is the feelings that develop between Jet and Nick right from the start. Now Jet is helping Nick and will do anything to get back at Gausto for the wrongs he has done to her and her pack.

This book is a little hard to get into in the beginning because of the author's writing style, but once the action starts it is well worth the read. The book can be read on its own, but since the other members of the Sentinel's team are heavily written in the book it might better to read those first.

Description:
Nick Carter, Sentinel consul adjutent, runs as a timber wolf--and it shows. But few of his Sentinels know the line he's been walking within compromised Brevis Southwest, and he needs to keep it that way. Uncovering entrenched Atrum Core moles has proved to be a long-term effort, requiring much patience--but it's time to step up the hunt.

Jet is a woman with no last name, because Jet didn't start life as a woman at all. She is an Atrum Core construct, a wolf turned human, roughly educated to Core purposes and turned loose on a mission: Take out Nick Carter...

When the two come together, neither Sentinel nor Atrum Core will be able to predict--or contain--the results.
