While not as funny as some of her other books Hunting Season is a good start to a new series featuring winged warriors working for the gods.

Neecy died when she was a teenager and is brought back to life by a goddess who offers her a second chance at life. Now years later, she is the second in command of the Jersey Crows. Someone is out to get rid of all the Crows and it is up to Neecy and her crew to find them before all of them are dead.

Yager is the leader of the New York/New Jersey Ravens. His group of warriors is similar to the Crows, except the Ravens aren't brought back to life. They come from a long line of chosen warriors to serve their god.

Yager wants Neecy, but Neecy isn't interested in getting involved with the sexy Raven. She has enough on her plate to add a relationship to the mix, but Yager is persistant and he isn't taking no for an answer.

Shelly Laurenston isn't only known for her funny stories, but she also writes a good action story. Hunting Season is filled with lots of action, smart talking females, hunky men and very sexy bedroom (and kitchen) scenes.
