Heiress Penelope needs to get away from her father who is trying to find her a groom. She needs to get away from him now before she finds herself with a man just like her father.
When she reads the article about Treasure Creek in a magazine she decides that this sounds like a place she can really find herself. After seeing a copy of a treasure map that has the whole town hoping, she decides she can really help the town by finding the treasure. The only problem is her car gets thrown off the road and all she finds is herself lost in the woods of Alaska.
Tucker Lawson has been missing from Treasure Creek since his plane went down several months earlier. He has taken refuse with an older couple in a lodge in the woods a few days walk from Treasure Creek. He has always known he needed to go back. He didn't realize just how hard his friends were searching for him, until he meets Penelope in the woods and hears about the rescue attempts.
The only problem is Tucker isn't ready to go back yet. He hasn't made his peace with himself yet, but when there are signs that Penelope might be in danger he has to get the heiress back and face his own demons.
A little slow to the start, this book features a good story on what happened to the missing Tucker and introduces a new character that shows the warmth of the season.
