Luke is shot while having sex with a stranger in his apartment. That's nothing new for him, Luke doesn't mind sharing his bed with a different woman every day and thinks it is his due especially with all his money. 

His friends convince him it is best for him to go away for a while, so the police can sort out who tried to kill him, so he goes to a beach resort and spends some time away from women and to spend some Luke time. 

Peyton is an executive who has worked her butt off and deserves a break. She's decided she's been a good girl for long enough and wants to have her first fling. She meets Luke and decides that she's never going to have a chance to meet a man like him again and goes for it. 

For three days the couple spend practically no time out of bed and the sex is wild and fun, until the day they have to part and realize it has never been like this for either. They part thinking they will never see each other again. 

Peyton's back in her Chicago and back at work and finds out that Luke isn't who she thought he was and when she gets to meet him again, she's ready to give him a piece of her mind. 

This is one of those books where it is just too short to really believe the outcome. As much as I like Peyton's character and love the idea of her branching out and finding vacation fling, which she seems to richly deserve, we don't get a chance to really see Luke's character really change from just a three day fling with Peyton.
