Tamar is trained from birth to be a good pastor's daughter. She's always been a good girl, but one slip changes her life forever.

Alphonso is stunned when he realizes he's the man who knocked Tamar up and he has wanted to kill all these months. Now he has to convince Tamar to take a chance on him, even though he's hurt her. The only problem is his past has come back to haunt him and what he feared all along may come true. 

This is the second book in the Clan Conroy Bride series. I decided to give this one a chance after reading the first one which left me with some issues and worry about whether I really liked this author's style. I am happy to say I gave her a second read. I liked the story and action throughout this book. Tamar is a great character. Although just a human she shows herself to be a strong person with a heart of gold. 

Alphonso may have started out as a jerk, but his character picks up throughout the story and they become a good strong couple with an HEA.

I'll be moving on to the next book in the series—Norelle's Bear.
