[Excerpt]
When his long football career is over, Dave Delaney is ready to settle down back in his small hometown. He's lived the highlife over the years including having a swinging open marriage with his ex-wife, but he's ready for something different. To find just one woman to live out the rest of his life with.
In Hedgewood, Texas Diane Connors has lived her life in an abusive marriage. Her ex-husband is now dead but she can't quite get lose of all the memories. She thinks all she wants is an affair with a passionate man and now that Dave, a man she had a crush on in high school, is back in town he would be perfect for that affair.
But after spending just a little time with Dave, Diane finds out he's looking for something more. Now she has to decide if she can put the past behind and have a real happy ever after.
Well written story, but a little too cliche. I liked Ann Jacobs take on it and as always with Ann Jacobs the love scenes are hot and steamy.
Description:
Book 3 in the Gridiron Lovers series.
After twenty years in the NFL, Dave Delaney’s playing days are over and he’s back home in Hedgecock, Texas, coaching football at his old high school. He’s tired of meaningless sex and his empty lifestyle. Dave is ready for change and sets his sights on the girl who got away.
Diane Connors is attracted in a big way, but Dave is used to being chased by groupies almost young enough to be his daughters. He’s still a chick magnet with a wild reputation, and she’s gun-shy after escaping a miserable marriage with a bully—another local jock.
Thing is, neither of them can forget what might have been.
This blog is dedicated to romance novels of all kinds. It will review everything from Harlequin to erotic. Be sure to catch the dish on everything from sweet love inspiration stories to steamy hot sexy stories. No page will go unturned. No book is safe from review. It's all in fun and just my views, but I believe that it's good to know what you're getting into before you move from the cover of a book to the front page.
Thanks, Roni, for taking the time to read and review HOT IN THE CLUTCH. I enjoyed writing Dave and Diane's story, and I'm glad you liked it.
