In Maddy Barone's After the Crash series a plane in flight crashes during a nuclear attack. Unknown to the people in the plane the force of the attack sends them into the future 50 years later into a world they don't recognize. Those that survive the crash are all women and as they search out help they find all different types of people in the new world with one thing in common, all are looking for wives and women. I love the world that the author has created. Image what life would be like if an Apocalypse so great came it shut off all power. There was not running water, no hot showers, no flushing toilets. Men were desperate for women. Now image you jump into the future and meet this new world. How would you react? This series should be read in order so you can see the world through the eyes of the woman who came off the plane.
The first story Sleeping with the Wolf, introduces readers to two woman who go in search of help and find themselves being won as a prize in a Bride Fight. Carla is on her way to being a top country singer 50 years ago, but now she has the attention of every man in sight hoping to win her as their own. The one who does finally win is more than just a man, because unknown to Carla some men changed more than their attitudes toward woman in the last 50 years, these men have turned into shifters who can turn into wolves.
