Someone is attacking women in the Magians community. Callie has always had good instincts when it comes to people and finding answers. She doesn't come by it through magic, she completely human. She isn't quite done with her studies to be a police officer, but her friend, Harrison, a Magian, asks for her help in finding out who is attacking other women Magian. 

Callie is happy to help, since her friends the Abbotts, a Magian family, has always been more than willing to help her whenever she needs it. When Harrison's brother Tyghe steps into help, Callie can't quite figure out what his angle is. She knows it has to be something because Tyghe never does anything with a way to benefit him.

And then there is Harrison's other brother Tucker. Tucker the one man she has always loved, but also the one man she has known she can never have, because she isn't a Magian. When Tucker comes home unexpectedly to also help with the investigation, Callie knows she might just be in trouble. Especially because Tyghe has suddenly taken a sexual interest in her and he has always been jealous of his older brother. 

To make matters more interesting she has to go undercover as Tucker and Tyghe "mate". With Harrison's help, Callie gets a bit of magic for until the special ball. Callie's willing to use whatever magic possible to have a chance to be with Tucker and Tyghe for just a little while. She'll have to worry about when its over later.

But there is a secret out there and a mystery to be solved, because the attacker isn't just happy beating up woman. The attacker is now killing them. 

This is the first book in a series. The story was put out in 2010 and already has two other books in the series Wicked Bad and Wicked Release. 

Callie is a strong character with a little bit of envy issues, because really who wouldn't want to have a little magic. Tyghe is a complete idiot who could use a little help in the personality department and Tucker is the perfect handsome hero, with a little bit of personality to make him all the more better. For the most part this is a well written piece with a pretty good mystery that is all too soon solved.
