There are two versions of this book available. One includes just Will of Steel. The other includes a bonus book, Reluctant Father, a previous book from Diana Palmer.

In Will of Steel we meet Chief of Police Theodore "Ted" Graves and Jillian "Jake" Sanders. Ted and Jake's uncles were partners and owned a beautiful piece of land. When the two died the uncles left a will that said that in order to keep from selling the land, Ted and Jake needed to marry.

Jake isn't all that sure that she is ready to get married. There is still something she hasn't told Ted about her past that makes her wonder if she is marriage material.

This book is basic formula for Diana Palmer, but for the difference that the hero isn't one of her insecure older men who has a problem with younger women or women in general. Ted and Jake have known each all Jake's life. He likes her as a person. In the beginning it isn't an undying passionate love, but it is a love that grows over time.

Ted is patient and waits for Jake to tell him her story, when she does he is kind and understanding. She's made mistakes in the past and he doesn't give her any insecure flack about it.

There is a little suspense added to the mix as Jake's past comes back to haunt them. All around a fairly good installment to the series. The only objection I had was there is a bit of too much what I call the author's chatter. Too much history and facts written in the dialog. One of the best books by the author in a while.

Leif's Surrender is the third book in the Roxie's Protectors series and then their were five books in the Wulf's Den series that started the whole story line from the beginning. I like the series, but this book basically follows the same path as the two before it, including how the women in the Protectors series all come to the aide of their mates in the end.

Other than that this is a nicely written book with some really hot sex scenes and a great twist at the end leaving readers wondering where the author will take the characters on the next book.

Dara is an untrained telepath, who doesn't really want any thing to do with her so called gift. When she sees a murder through the murderer's mind she doesn't know what to do but go to the police. Unfortunately for her, the world doesn't believe in telepaths and everyone assumes she has something to do with the crimes. She is quickly charged and convicted of the murder.

Now on a prison planet, Dara is forced to watch every move she makes as she is thrown in with a bunch of hard core men. Their thoughts and dreams being transmitted at her is almost more than she can stand. On the upside she is given a telepath for a roommate. For some reason Tristan takes to protecting Dara from the other inmates and begins to teach her how to handle her gift.

Tristan has his own problems. The prisons of the future use the prisoners to conduct experiments on. Over a year ago, Tristan was given drugs that the scientists thought would allow him to shift into a tiger. When nothing happened they assumed it was a failure and moved on.

Suddenly with Dara there to protect, animal instincts start to take control of Tristan and he needs to learn how to control his animal before it either kills him or he kills everyone around him, maybe even Dara.

This is a long story with a lot of descriptive passages and combining romance and suspense. The author combines both science fiction and paranormal genre into the story.

Nicely written story featuring an older woman and younger man scenario, as well as two people with ethnic differences. Well written suspenseful plot offering good conflict and a realistic drama.

As part of the Harlequin Ambassador Program I receive some books in the mail that they ask me to read and give them my opinion on. Sometimes they are books that aren't published yet and sometimes they are books like This Time For Keeps that were just recently released.

After reading This Time For Keeps I decided to recommend the book to others and write up a review, which I don't normally do. This is one of those tough story lines. This isn't a book you read to make yourself laugh, but one that might just bring tears to your eyes.

Meg and her husband Russell are happily married until the day they lose their unborn child and Meg happy life is shattered. She doesn't know what to do with herself, she becomes distant and Russell doesn't know how to reach her.

Then Russell leaves on a business trip that is only suppose to take a few weeks and doesn't return for two years and then only to clear up his sister's estate.

When Russell's sister dies in a car accident she leaves her baby with Meg to take care of. Meg loves the baby. This is her chance to have the baby she has always wanted and she's doing a good job of taking care of her. Suddenly Russell's back as well as the baby's father and she might have to give another child up.

Can Meg and Russell come to terms with the past and move forward is the underlying question?

Well written, but sad and uneasy book.
